Last weekend saw the third round of the Aston Martin GT4 Challenge. At last, we were going to race around our ‘local’ track, the world-famous Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.
Testing threw very mixed weather at us and resulted in quite a few off for other cars. Fortunately, we stayed safe and Kevin posted his best ever lap time.
Saturday gave us good weather but we were suffering from a peculiar car problem with the engine cutting out on right-handers. That left us at the back of the grid.
The race was very frustrating with a return of the problem for both Kevin and me in our separate stints. However, again Kevin set a personal best lap time in his stint and I set the fastest race lap on our way to 5th. How often do problems arise when hoping for a good result at one’s home circuit?
Looking ahead to the next round at Brands Hatch the team will have the car sorted and hopefully all will be set for a good result.
A big thank you to Kevin and the Track Group team for all their hard work over the weekend.
